What you send us

A text-based print PDF with high-resolution images, including the cover page. That is the whole requirement.

Before production starts we check that the source is genuinely text-based and structurally suitable. Scanned or image-only PDFs need a different route, and we tell you that up front rather than after invoicing. If a title needs a different approach, you hear it in the first conversation.

How the fileset is built

Structure comes first. Chapters, headings, lists, sidebars, tables and figure groups are marked up so the document's reading order survives conversion. Tables get proper headers and scope. Front matter, body matter and rear matter are separated as the standard requires.

Alt text is drafted by our team for the images that carry instructional meaning — diagrams, charts, worked examples, labelled photographs — and sent to you for correction. Decorative images are marked as such rather than described. Production only proceeds once you have signed off.

Getting to certified

We hold vendor access to the NIMAC portal. We upload the fileset on your behalf, respond to validation issues, and stay with the title until it is duly certified. You are not left chasing a portal you do not have credentials for.

The process, step by step

1. We check the source Our production team confirms the files convert cleanly before any work begins.
2. We author the alt text Descriptions for meaningful images are drafted and sent to you to approve.
3. We produce and validate The fileset is built and validated against the NIMAS DTD.
4. We see it through Upload to NIMAC, then follow-up until the title is certified.
